Artisans In The Gardens

‘Hinterland’ is a series of mobiles made from stainless steel, paper, gouache, stones and polyurethane resin. This series has been created for Artisans in the Gardens 2010.

The ‘Hinterland’ mobiles are inspired by forms from nature, such as seed pods, vines and trees. These mobiles are infused with the memory of a carefree summer, of lying in the long grass in the sunshine, walking through the rainforest and floating in the cool waters of a creek deep in the bush. ‘Hinterland’ is coloured by the lush greens of rainforest and hinterland pasture, the movement of the mobiles reminiscent of trees moving gently in the breeze on a summer afternoon.
