Contemplation, stillness, harmony.
In 2001 I was artist in residence at Vermont Studio Centre in Vermont, USA. During my month long residency I spent a great deal of time painting a special part of the forest. I was fascinated by the changing effects of light on this place over the day. This contemplative encounter with nature sparked the inspiration for Forest Wall. I have painted from a beautiful photograph of Blue Gum Forest by Ian Brown. My original painting was 2200mm high. This was scanned on a giant flat bed scanner, then made into wallpaper.
