‘Kingdom of Butterflies’ is an installation of mobiles suspended along the entire length of the Medical Mall corridor in the National Taiwan University Cancer Center.

Butterflies are universally perceived as a symbol of transformation, which is in keeping with artwork designed to enhance a healing environment. In Chinese mythology, a green butterfly is a symbol of good and also represents love. This artwork takes its name from Taiwan, which is also known as the “Kingdom of Butterflies”. The butterflies in the mobile installation are inspired by the Catopsilia Pomona butterfly, which thrives abundantly in Taiwan.
