Looking up is installed over the body of four escalators located in the centre court of Westfield Parramatta. Created using a white-on-white palette, the artwork relies on the subtle play of light to reveal texture and image. Viewers can experience the artwork while walking through the centre court and riding the escalators to the levels above. 

The background layer is made from Alucobond, which has a glossy, pearlescent finish into which the leaves and branches are etched, to create a subtle patterning seen through effects of light. The leaf layer is made from perforated aluminium and painted with a pearlescent paint so that it catches the natural and artificial light and appears to shimmer against the background.
